11:40 to 12:20That was the year that was

By any measure 2016 was a spectacular year for the whole office imaging industry. Maybe cartridge volumes and printed pages are declining year-on-year, but the Apex/Lexmark deal, the HP Inc spin-out and then the HP Inc/Samsung deal are, along with others, significantly disruptive game changers. Some observers say the market is quiet, but change is afoot as the market focuses more on margin and cash profit than volume. Learn how lean, agile and scalable became the new mantra and route to profitability.

13:00 to 13:40From millennials to baby boomers: understanding attitudes to print and printing

Our customers are a diverse mix of cultures, backgrounds and demographics. They bring a wide range of attitudes to their printing requirements. In this presentation we will explore how a diverse mix of needs and requirements affects printing requirements today, and how we may need to change the way we communicate to different customer groups in the future.
· Everyone’s individual – or are they?
· Key drivers and motivators
· Who prints and why: the value of print
· But we all speak the same language, don’t we?
· Adapting to a diverse and changing customer

16:00 to 16:40The big challenge

By the end of 2020, 50 percent of the workforce will be millennials, aged 25 to 40, and the number will rise to 75 percent by 2025. In less than 10 years, millennial customers will change from using your products to sourcing, approving and buying your products. The big challenge is how will the office imaging industry lay the foundations now to engage and capture the millennial business tomorrow?

14:40 to 15:20Parallel channels

Adjacent channels like label printing, commercial and speciality printing are emerging and are attractive segments to be in. Remanufacturing will still be an important part of the office imaging mix. Other green/remanufacturing synergies are emerging and may well be good growth areas for remanufacturers to consider. As you explore moving your business in a new, forward-looking direction it’s important you focus on fine tuning your business processes and understand the do’s and don’ts that work when pivoting your business.

15:20 to 16:00What we expect in imaging markets in 2017

Charlie Brewer shares his insights on 2016 in the US market and how that fits in to the global perspective, what the OEMs are doing and the changing face for the industry, and what that might been for 2017 and beyond.

What are the market trends, where is the supplies market going and what M&A activities can we expect in 2017?

On the legal front, what cases have been settled and what are the big cases that need to be followed in 2017?

16:00 to 16:40Printing and document usage trends among SMBs in CEE and MEA

In the era of digital transformation and the explosion of third platform technologies, customers' behavior is changing. Despite the development of modern communications technologies, the printing business will not die any time soon. In 2016, IDC conducted a survey across Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (CEMA) to analyse printing and document usage trends among small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Mr. Przemek Kowalski will present a summary of this survey, covering such topics as purchase behaviours, consumables usage trends, and the extent of paper-to-digital transformation among SMBs.
The following questions — along with many others likely to be of interest to the audience — will be answered, supported by IDC data:
• What are the most important factors for SMBs when purchasing a new printing device?
• What factors would make a company stop using non-original consumables?
• What are the main reasons behind the current decline in page volumes?

14:40 to 15:20Remanufacturing: Is the value proposition still valid?

At a time when markets are being squeezed with lower printed page volumes, a strengthening OEM market and an aggressive assault from low price new-built cartridges, is better salesmanship in the remanufacturing industry required to sell the value proposition and achieve a sensible, value-driven premium?

15:20 to 16:00Ink? Laser? Mono? Colour? A3? A4?: A look at what will be hot in 2017

2016 was the most active year we’ve seen in terms of new equipment introductions - from entry-level SOHO machines to the upper tiers of the A3 colour market, vendors have launched new devices in virtually every category in 2016.

Charlie Brewer explores which of these devices are the winners and which are destined for the junk heap. How inkjet vendors are finally making headway as the consumer inkjet market declines, and how inkjet machines stack up to EP devices - what is happening with the inkjet printer OEMs’?

Colour laser has been the industry’s hottest segment for 10 years and is still the fastest-growing, but monochrome remains the largest market in terms of both unit shipments and revenue, what does the future hold for monochrome?

Size matters? Less than 10 percent of all pages printed with A3 devices are printed on 11x17-inch sheets—so why is A3 popular? Copier vendors have grabbed A4 market share from printer manufacturers but printer vendors are fighting back… big time!
